The Texas Rangers are heading up an investigation into an officer involved shooting in Jasper that left a
man dead. Officers were serving a no-knock warrant yesterday morning at a home in the 100 block of
Parker Drive when shots were exchanged. 67-year old Elvin Dean Land died at the scene. An officer was
in stable condition after being shot. The officer was wearing a ballistic vest that protected him in the
shooting. A large amount of narcotics and firearms were found in the home.
