Exxon Wants To Rehire Employees In Port Arthur

Exxon Mobil and Qatar Petroleum want to rehire the six-thousand workers laid off from a Port Arthur

gas liquefaction plant last month. To do that, they want a court to force Zachry Industrial out of its

construction contract. The energy companies allege Zachry received billions for work at the Golden

Pass plant that it hasn't completed yet. Zachry is currently filing for bankruptcy, with officials saying

they absorbed massive costs as a result of the pandemic. Exxon and Qatar want to bring in a new

contractor to complete the work.
