Beryl very near hurricane force and will still have the opportunity to reach CAT1 status before landfall on the east side of Matagorda Bay to the southwest of Bay City around 4 in the morning.
Heaviest rain and winds in our area will likely be from around daybreak to around noon. There is the potential for around 5 inches of rain which could cause some street flooding briefly. Wind gusts to 40-50 mph will be possible in the stronger squalls.
Rapid improvement can be expected by late Monday afternoon.
