President Biden is pushing for major reforms to the Supreme Court as he marks the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. While speaking from the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas, Biden called for 18-year term limits for justices and an enforceable code of ethics. He also proposed a constitutional amendment to limit the broad immunity granted to presidents by a recent Supreme Court decision. Biden argued that "extreme opinions" from the Supreme Court in recent years have undermined long-established civil rights protections. He cited the court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and grant broad immunity to presidents.
