Jasper County Sheriff Mitchell Newman is investigating on how an inmate was able to get a gun into the county jail. The inmate was booked into the jail Monday evening and was later found to be holding a gun. The inmate was brought to the jail for making a disturbance. The weapon was immediately removed from the inmate without incident.
