Gas prices in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area dropped four cents over the past week to $2.96 a gallon. A year ago on August 23rd we were paying $3.05 a gallon. The statewide average dropped seven cents to $2.97 gallon. This morning’s national average dropped six cents to $3.37 a gallon. These averages are from Triple A Texas.
