The man responsible for the early New Years morning deadly attack in New Orleans may have a Beaumont background. 42-year old Shamshud-Din Jabbar is accused of driving onto a crowded Burbon Street killing 10 and injuring 30. Jabbar died in an exchange of gunfire with police. He reportedly was born and raised in Beaumont and lived in Houston. A man with the same name is a 2001 graduate of Beaumont Central High School.
