The End Of STARR Test Nearing

(Austin, TX) --The State Senate has passed a bill that will do away with the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, test. Under this plan, schools would switch to having three tests, spaced throughout the school year. Supporters say this will provide a more accurate picture of student progress. The bill now heads back to the House. If Representatives approve the changes made in the Senate, it will move on to the Governor.
