Bonds Set On Murder Suspects

Bonds have been set on two men in connection with a Sunday morning murder in Jefferson County. 28-year-old Demarcus Elam is being held on a $2 million bond and 25-yaer-old Javeon Blount’s bond is $1.5 million. They are accused of shooting and killing 37-year-old Shameka Miller as she was driving on Highway 73, near Veolia Road in Jefferson County. Miller, was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher when she was shot, had followed Blount and Elam from a Beaumont motel.
