A street sweeper doesn't seem like a vehicle that can reach high speeds, but they apparently can. Authorities in Oregon say a man stole a street sweeper and led police on a ten-mile chase that reached speeds of up to 65 miles per hour. Hillsboro police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office said a private contractor was using the street sweeper to clean a Winco parking lot in the early hours of Sunday (March 12th) morning, and exited the vehicle to use a handheld leaf blower. That's when the suspect, 33-year-old Tyler Haugewood, jumped into the street sweeper and sped away. Haugewood was arrested and charged with vehicle theft, reckless driving, and attempting to elude, among other charges
