Several car manufacturers now include technology that can detect a driver’s drowsiness and respond with a warning beep or a coffee cup icon. Now they’re working on more sophisticated sensors that will monitor the driver’s vital signs and send an early alert of looming sleepiness. According to The New York Times, automakers Audi, Mercedes and Volvo now offer drowsiness detection systems.
