Former southeast Texas U.S. Congressman Steve Stockman has been indicted by a federal
grand jury. Stockman is accused of conspiring with former congressional employees of taking
$800,000 intended for charities and using it for his campaign. Stockman and associate Jason
Perry are charged in a 28 count indictment with mail and wire fraud. Stockman denies the
allegations. Thomas Dodd, a former special assistant in Stockman’s office, pleaded guilty
to his involvement earlier this month.
