A 75-year-old Connecticut man is being hailed as the savior of stray cats after raising $26,000 to care for the animals. Willie Ortiz has never missed a chance to take care of the cats, feeding them nightly and gathering ones who need to be spayed or neutered. An online fundraiser set up for him through the website GoFundMe topped $26,000, more than five times his stated goal of $5,000. Seemingly overnight, the donations jumped tenfold when the link was posted to Reddit. The money will be used to care for the strays as well as fix Ortiz's truck, which is at "the end of its life."
