'WONDER WOMAN' STILL A MARVEL IN FOURTH WEEKEND (06/26/2017)

Transformers: The Lost Knight raked in $45.3 million for its opening weekend, bringing in its total five-day haul of $69.1 million close to its projected earning of $70 million.

But the real news is Wonder Woman, which, in its fourth weekend, still managed to rake in $26.1 million. (Cars 3 nipped at her heels, bringing in $25.6 million in its second week out).

The Gal Gadot / Chris Pine adventure dropped just 39% from its earnings of $41 million last weekend, making it one of the smallest fourth-weekend drops ever for a movie that opened above $100 million. It is also the tenth-biggest fourth weekend gross of all time.

Wonder Woman is smashing all kinds of records. The movie has already crossed the $300 million mark, meaning it has out-earned every J.K. Rowling film except Deathly Hallows Part 2. Wonder Woman will also soon be the third-biggest DC Comics earner.

It is also among the biggest female-helmed action movies ever, and is already the biggest live-action film directed by a woman. Patty Jenkins directed the blockbuster, and observers predict a huge future for her and Gadot in Hollywood, thanks to their epic box office jujitsu.
