Birds can fly, so do you think they really care about car mirrors? Woodpeckers in the Nob Hill area of Snellville, Georgia really do not. Residents there first thought mischievous kids were shattering their side-view car mirrors, but then someone caught a woodpecker "red beaked". Witnesses say a pileated woodpecker (the size of a crow) has been attacking his own reflection after thinking it’s a rival. Residents are now covering their mirrors with plastic bags while parked. They don't have many more options as these types of woodpeckers are a protected species. (
