Australian Women Bitten By 5-Foot Snake While On Toilet

This seems like a pretty solid reason to avoid using toilets in Australia. Last week a woman in Brisbane was using the bathroom at a relative's home when she was bitten by a five-foot carpet python. Helen Richards, age 59, said she felt a "sharp tap" on her "bottom" and then "jumped up with my pants down and turned around to see what looked like a longneck turtle receding back into the bowl." A snake handler was able to safely remove the animal from the toilet. She said it's common to find the reptiles in the toilet when the weather is hot. Richards' bites were treated with antiseptic and have mostly healed.(Fox)
