A new artificial intelligence program built by Facebook recently beat five poker pros in a six-player Texas Hold'em tournament. After 10,000 hands, the AI, called Pluribus, averaged profits of about $1,000 per hour using $1 chips, which Facebook described as a "decisive margin of victory." Although AI has been beating humans as poker for a couple of years, they only were able to compete against a single player at a time. Facebook said that beating five people in a single game is a significant milestone, given the complexities involved in poker, such as bluffing.
