The Church of the Nativity, where many Christians believe Jesus Christ was born, is located in Bethlehem, a city governed by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. However, Israel controls the Palestinian territories through military checkpoints and Israeli settlements there. Angry Palestinian supporters took to social media demanding an apology.
