(Undated) -- Led Zeppelin did not commit copyright infringement on the 1971 hit "Stairway to Heaven." That's the latest decision from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which upheld a lower court's 2016 ruling in a lawsuit where guitarist Jimmy Page was accused of stealing part of the song from lesser known American rock group Spirit. Both group's songs were played by a pianist at the original trial, but attorneys representing Spirit claimed the intro to "Stairway to Heaven" was not included with the sheet music submitted for copyright. Spirit's lawyers wanted the song's recordings played at the new trial, but the appeals court rejected that idea.
