In a bold diplomatic move, Senator Ted Cruz traveled to Latin America with a clear message: the United States will no longer tolerate the unchecked violence and drug trafficking perpetrated by Mexican and Venezuelan cartels.

During a recent episode of the Verdict with Ted Cruz podcast, the Senator recounted his conversations with Mexican officials, emphasizing that under a future Trump administration, decisive action against drug cartels is not just likely—it’s inevitable.

Cruz to Mexico: “Work With Us or We’ll Act Alone”

Senator Cruz made headlines by stating there is a “zero percent chance” that a future President Trump would allow four years to pass without taking direct action against the cartels. He urged the Mexican government to collaborate with the U.S., warning that unilateral action may be necessary if cooperation is not forthcoming.

“We would much rather work with you,” Cruz said. “But these cartels are murdering Americans. The Commander in Chief has an obligation to act.”

Viral Video: U.S. Military Strikes Venezuelan Drug Boat

The podcast also discussed a dramatic video shared by former President Donald Trump, showing a U.S. military strike on a Venezuelan drug boat in the Southern Caribbean. The boat, allegedly operated by the Cartel of the Suns, was destroyed in a precision strike that killed 11 suspected narco-terrorists.

Trump’s message was clear:

“Please let this serve as a notice to anybody even thinking about bringing drugs into the United States of America. Beware.”

The psychological impact of such strikes, Cruz noted, is profound. Drug traffickers now live with the uncertainty of sudden, invisible retaliation—from drones, missiles, or even exploding communication devices.

Biden Administration Under Fire

Cruz and co-host Ben Ferguson criticized the Biden administration’s border policies, accusing it of enabling traffickers by suing Texas for enforcing border security. The podcast highlighted incidents where federal authorities allegedly lifted barriers to allow illegal crossings, undermining state efforts to combat trafficking.

“Texas is fighting to keep out human traffickers and drug traffickers,” Cruz said. “And the Biden administration sued Texas instead of helping.”

Historical Parallels: Terrorist Deterrence in the Middle East

Drawing comparisons to counter-terrorism operations in the Middle East, Cruz referenced Israeli strikes against IRGC leaders and Hezbollah operatives. These operations created a climate of fear and uncertainty among terrorists—an effect he believes is now being replicated in Latin America.

“The deterrent effect is real,” Cruz said. “Any moment could be your last.”

A Message to Maduro and Cartel Leaders

The podcast concluded with a pointed reminder to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who currently faces a $50 million bounty from the U.S. government. Cruz emphasized that the recent strike sends a message not just to traffickers, but to corrupt leaders enabling them.

Senator Ted Cruz’s trip to Latin America and the viral military strike video mark a turning point in U.S. foreign policy toward drug cartels. With over 100,000 Americans dying from drug overdoses annually, Cruz argues that decisive, collaborative, and if necessary, unilateral action is essential.
