Port Arthur police have released the name of a man that was killed Tuesday in a wreck. 57-year
old Elton Slater, of Port Arthur, was traveling west in the 4000 block of Highway 73 when his
car was struck from behind by another westbound vehicle. Slater was pronounced dead at the
scene. The driver of the vehicle that struck Slater’s car was treated for non-life threatening
injuries. The driver of a third vehicle involved was not hurt.
