It is primary election day in Texas. Voters will be deciding, county, state, and congressional
races. In Jefferson County. County Clerk Laurie Leister says there could be delays in tallying
results. A change in Texas election laws now requires polling location workers to run a results
tape at the polling location after the polls have closed. This may delay the final results by a few
hours. Early voting and mail in ballots will be released shortly after the polls close. The polls are
open today from 7:00 to 7:00.
