Beaumont police have released the names of the victims from two Wednesday night fatalities.
The first was in the 3500 block of North Major Drive. 76-year old Reed Nichols, of Beaumont,
lost control of his SUV, struck a car, then flipped on its side. Nichols was pronounced dead at
the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. The second fatality was in
the 2500 block of Delaware. 60-year old Michael Lowe, of Nederland, was traveling west at a
high rate of speed. He lost control and struck a telephone pole. Lowe was pronounced dead at
the scene.
