Beaumont police worked two separate fatalities last night. The first one occurred around
7:30 in the 3500 block of North Major drive when the driver of a SUV struck a car, then
hit a utility pole a ended up in a ditch. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the
scene. The second fatality was in the 2500 block of Delaware when a car was traveling at
a high rate of speed and the driver lost control and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead
at the scene.
