A total of five people are in custody in connection with a Beaumont murder. A man was shot
Sunday night in the 2200 block of Virginia. He was transported to the hospital where he died.
19-year old Jerome Verdine Jr., of Beaumont, and 23-year old Donald Demar Babino Jr., of
Port Arthur are charged with murder. They are being held on $1 million bonds. Three juveniles,
aged 14, 15, and 16 and facing weapon and evading charges. They are being held at the Minnie
Rogers Juvenile Detention Center.
