The Hardin County grand jury has returned a manslaughter indictment against a Silsbee man
for a February death. 30-year old James Cantrell is charged with the February 24th death of
30-year old Jeremiah Ray, of Kountze. Ray had died from injuries he suffered from exiting a
moving vehicle. Cantrell is also charged with the aggravated robbery of a man near Silsbee.
His bonds in Hardin County is $100,00 for the manslaughter charge. Cantrell is also facing
charges in Liberty County for a 2021 shooting.
