I have flown United Airlines and of course Continental before the merging of the two. I fly American right out of Beaumont, Texas. I have missed a few flights in my time. We were bumped coming back from my granddaughters graduation. Our world did not end. In a perfect world no one would ever get bumped. When I flew four and five times a year to visit my mom in Florida the air fare from Houston to Tampa was far more than now and that was in 1980’s dollars. We want the 200.00 flight but we want the steak dinner and first class service with it. It ain’t gonna happen. There is no 4.00 meal at any of the first class steak houses. There are no luxury SUV’s for under 5 grand. There ain’t no luxury flight for 200.00. United was wrong the way they handled it but planes have rules as well as a schedule to maintain. That applies to ALL PASSENDGERS. UNDERSTAND? ALL!! Every flight is usually full and everyone wants to get home. We have a total of about 5 carriers you can choose from. If you hate them all, then go GreYhound.
