Sears could be the latest victim, following in the path of Macy’s, Woolworth, and 5 and 10 cent stores around the universe. The Sears Catalog, often used when we ran out of T.P. was also a plethora of great values and a must look for Christmas gifting. The old jokes about Seersucker suits (Sears made it, the sucker bought it) will also go down the drain, kind of like “Ajax, the foaming cleanser…babbabbba”. We all love Sears. Rudolph (as in Reindeer) owes it’s birth to the icon. The fridge in my kitch is from Sears. Where else would you buy? But the times, they are a changing. It’s Amazon and all of the on line craze. Soon there will be no malls. We can order in front of a screen. No wonder the kids don’t want to go out and play. Why should they? Everything is at their finger tips. If Sears doesn’t make it, I will still love the memories. Oh, FYI. It actually used to be called Sears-Roebuck. Or did you know that?
