I do this every Memorial day weekend. Each year we lose another 10 or 20 thousand world war two veterans. The youngest now to have gotten in the last year of that war(1945) is 89. Vets from Nam are in their sixties and seventies and soon will dissipate rapidly. The Gulf and Iraq veterans are somewhere in the 30 to 50 range. Make it a point this weekend to thank one or more for their service. That grill you fire up, those ribs and hot dogs you will enjoy were made possible by these guys and guys we owe so much too. Sadly, in addition to limbs and sight, some gave their minds and live a terrible every day existence. Those beneath our feet paid the ultimate sacrifice. We know em, we love em, so let’s tell em. Give a vet thanks this Memorial day.
