Al's Morning Blog - Thursday, June 15th, 2017

I lay there awake this morning just a little before 4am going over yesterday’s events. It made me wonder if I wasn’t living 1968 all over again. That fateful year riots took place at the democratic convention in Chicago, Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis after speaking to the sanitation workers. Robert Kennedy was gunned down during a bid for the presidency in Los Angeles. Less than two years after, students would die at Kent State University in Ohio. We didn’t think things could get any worse. Then they did. Now it’s  the new century.  We haven’t learned much from the old century. Some people are saying “Love trumps hate”. Maybe it should be “Hate fuels more Trump hate”. We haven’t learned a thing. No one is satisfied with a loss. That’s why some kids get “participation “ trophy’s even when they lose so their feelings will not be crushed. It’s time to put on our big boy pants, America. It’s time to get out of the crib, out of the diapers and get rid of the pacifier. It’s time to grow up and figure out things don’t always go your way.
