My mother used to tell me she lived in an amazing age. She saw the birth of the automobile and the airplane, radio and television, electric vacuum cleaner, the washing machine and more. But we have sent men and women to the moon, shared the internet and its secrets, have use of cell phones and I pads, not to mention robots that do our work and cars that drive themselves. I guess every century has had its special moments. The dark side of all this is that we are now able to destroy a country in a matter of minutes and blow ourselves and all around us to bits. Kids and even seniors are smarter than ever. We are living longer than ever, if not in some cases healthier. We have invented cures for diseases and new ways to kill each other. Sometimes, progress is a big question mark. I wonder if our ancestors who crossed this country in covered wagons would trade places with us?
