Your desk organizer probably tells you it’s the 11th of September. Today is Patriots day. Today is 9-11. If you are younger than 25 it might mean little to you. If you are 60 it might not mean much. If you care about this country and your fellow man, it’s not just Monday. It’s a day for remembering. If you remember for even 30 seconds, it’s okay. We all move on, sooner or later. The victims remain voiceless. They are doomed to whatever age they were some hours back 16 years ago. If you take just a second and thank them for their service it will be a good thing. Thank them for their service? Yes. They gave their lives for you and I because maybe it prevented an even bigger attack later on. So in a way they did give their lives for their country. No one will know the horror they faced when making a decision to die in a fire or a fall. It had to be a lousy choice. For 30 seconds, remember them. Remember evil comes in all sizes, shapes and colors. So does goodness. Think good thoughts for just a moment. If not justify, it might satisfy to know we still, with all our indifferences, live in the greatest country in the world. God bless you, those who were ready for another day at the office, but instead readied for eternity.
