It really is and I mean REALLY IS heartbreaking to see the people in our area that are “unhoused”. What is even sadder is that many do not have the money or insurance or all of the above to get themselves going again. We talk about the war on poverty but do nothing about it. Some people just can’t seem to get a break. Bad luck seems to follow them. Worse, those are more fortunate tend to blame these folks, saying it’s all their own fault. In many cases, hard working, good people get the bad end of the stick. Others who could afford insurance decided they didn’t need it. Between bad luck and bad decisions we are once again going through another Ike or Rita. It will continue. It will never stop. Even the best laid plans of…..well, you know how that saying goes. All we can do is hope….and help.
