There’s nothing any of us can say when we are made aware of what took place on Sunday, November 5th. We will be shocked and then slowly, will move on as we did with Las Vegas, Miami, New York and the many other sad events that continually remind us of what a gift life is and how quickly It can taken away. Taken away, not by diseases such as cancer or heart, or automobile or plane mishaps. Instead it the mishap of our society. Killing goes back to Cain and Abel, but I swear the intervals lately seem so brief. It seems like this happened once, maybe twice a year. Now it seems like once a week. It is so scary when the Sunday event you look forward to seems so safe, only to find out how deadly it is. How dear and precious life is. We so enjoy most of until something happens close to home. Let the gun haters scream and the mental health advocates snarl. The bottom line is we never know what’s coming, including the place where many of us worship. Sad, yes but at what point do we lock our doors and hover behind the couch?
