I wonder how many of us even acknowledge a “Holiday”. MLK, Memorial, July 4th, Labor Day. These are the non- holiday holidays. Not like Christmas, Valentines, etc. These are days designated to remember a special event or person. Such is Martin Luther King day. A day designated to remember one of THE pioneers in getting equal living and working conditions for members of the minority. This man had many more years to live, cut short by someone so narrow-minded they could not see past the end of their nose. Reverend King died much too early, fighting not for just his people but for all persons of color. It would be so sad not to pause for at least a moment to remember what some say he “tried” to do. I think anyone with any sense would recognize the need for a day to honor him. I hope we all will.
