Although I did not attend I heard glowing reports of the Beaumont fireworks display on the 4th of July and that is good news. Hampered by the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the riverfront was not and is not ready for the annual tradition that celebrates our country’s birth every year. In switching to the Event Center on MLK, the city might have found an Easter egg. Everyone had a great time and there seemed to be few if any problems. Many of us thought this would not be a good venue but as always the city always seems to come through. When the move from Magnolia avenue to Ford Park drew loud criticism we found out people did enjoy not slopping through mud, freaking out over parking and the like. Sometimes, change is good. Looks like this year’s 4th celebration proved that.
