The temperature is expected to be in the 90’s today. I know. It’s hot. It usually is every year in July. This is southeast Texas. It will be 107 in Dallas. That’s hotter than here and it usually is. It also gets a lot colder in the winter UP there than DOWN here. If we are lucky we have air conditioning. Central air or window air. It’s good, cool air. We have acclimated ourselves to comfort. We are, for the most part in cool more than in hot. In the car, the truck and at the business we work at. Yes, at home and when on vacation. Invariably someone tells me “it ain’t hot”. Yes, it is. They tell me they didn’t’ have AC when they were a kid and “they were just fine”. No, they weren’t. I grew up in Dallas County without air and it wasn’t fine. it wasn’t even good. It wasn’t even tolerable. Every chance I got to get where there was AC I went there. The movies, a restaurant or all of the above. I hated that my first jobs were outside in the heat and I was sweltering. I wasn’t fine and neither were you. You tolerated like I and everyone else did. Quit braggin about how you stood the heat. Please do that and everything will be FINE.
