Al's Morning Blog - Monday December 16th, 2019

Last week I ran into a friend at the post office (where else?) and we talked for about 5 minutes. He asked me if I was going to play my Christmas story of my youth again this year and I told him yes. We continued to talk and the story of Christmas Story (Ralphie, you’ll shoot your eye out) came up and we both agreed we would watch again this year. He did mention he didn’t like the profanity in the movie and the kid getting his mouth washed out with soap was not a good lesson for kids to see. I let it go and mentioned he should watch “Young Sheldon” (TVs #1 sitcom and a very good show) and there would be some cute clips about going to church. I ran into him on Saturday and he spoke of seeing it last Thursday. He did not think it funny at all. Sheldon’s mom who plays the part of a very righteous woman told Sheldon a fib was okay. It actually portrayed what all of our mom’s have told us at one time or another. Always tell the truth…but. Ex: “Does this dress make me look fat”? “Heavens no”. Oh, oh. LIE!! I didn’t realize I was going to hell until he finished his diatribe on it. Wow. I didn’t realize how unwashed, unfit and filthy I am. Well, maybe it takes one to know one.
