Like most folks I am curious about the wholesale slaughter that abounds in our nation . It's a head scratcher but when I look at the ages and seemingly copy cat attempts, a few things come to mind. The 15 minutes of fame is one theory. But how can one fail to realize chances of winding up dead are challenging. Does life nowadays appear to be that meaningless? My dad used to say when you are dead it's for a long time . Could it be the video games? When I was a kid, pinball machines were enough to keep most young (and some older) folks satisfied. In the 80's Pac Man had us by the knuckles, including older adults. Then Grand Theft Auto and other angry games followed including killing and more killing followed. I also see ads showing "really crazy driving" and wonder if it excites some to a point of wanting to be a daredevil. It could be hogwash but somethings going on out there. From a few killings a month to a few a day make me wonder if this is or could be as infectious as Covid? There is a lot on all of our plates but I for one, watch every car I see on the road and wonder, could this be the someone I do not want to meet?
