As of today, there will be no further laughing....EVER!! Too many feelings has been hurt, prides have been shattered. There is no reason to laugh at anything...EVER. Jackie Gleason (Alice, one of these days to the moon.)
Just what does that mean? Abbott & Costello (who's on first?. Does that mean the rest of society is secondary? RACIST!! Flip Wilson (the devil made me wear this dress). By what right do we make fun of the devil?
It goes on and on. No drunk jokes, or fat jokes, skinny jokes, God forbid any ethnic jokes, (except Italian and old white men jokes.)No jokes about women and that cuts out half of the world's population. So we are left with nothing to do except go around scowling and complaining, which if you will notice, we are already doing. Maybe this one will work. "A day with a smile is a lawsuit to file" or "If you tell a joke or do swear, then you should get the chair". We are certainly big on cashless bail, so shouldn't comedians get off the hook? The only good humor left seems to be with the ice cream man (Good Humor man..ice cream....uh 1950's thing. Sorry about that. I wonder if the guys and gals at the Improv's are getting busted or making people laugh. Remember words like "Knee-slapper" "gut checker" or "Doozie"? Nothing on Seinfeld would fly nowadays. Forget the Jeffersons, All in the Family, or Golden Girls. They're still on the tube for the moment but surely there has to be a movement to rid the public of these poison pen anecdotes.
