Daniel Penny may be a hero, only to those aboard the subway in which he applied the chokehold to Jordan Neely. Neely was considered nothing more than a dirt bag by those who now cheer him on as a hero. He was not a hero. His own family dismissed him as troubled, homeless and as a violent person who had hurt older citizens. The media would have you believe he was a "Jackson(Michael) impersonator, a subway star. He threatened people. Not his first incident. No one wanted him alive, but in death, a hero. At first blush, folks thought Jussie Smolette was a hero until they found out he was nothing more than a bad actor. A REALLY bad one. Penny did what people used to do everyday and that was protect the public. Today , if you see someone getting harmed or raped, you take a picture and post it. Hell, you might make some bucks. No one wants to step up. Daniel Penny did. Someone who volunteered to protect his country. What he did was kind of heroic. Want a real hero? Todd Beamer. People say who? But knowing he was going to die, he helped crash flight 93 on 9-11 and probably saved hundreds, maybe thousands of lives. That's a hero. There are no murals of him anywhere. But he personified the word. Our heroes are leaving. It's not worth jail time to bail folks out. In Houston, authorities thought about charges against a diner who killed a thief, threatening other diners. The thief had a plastic gun (thankfully) and that should make no mind. He was shot 9 times which folks said was excessive. Actually he should have been shot 99 times. After some thought, no charges were filed. But that's Texas. Hopefully Mr. Penny can get the right justice but that's doubtful in New York's Kangaroo court system. Willie Nelson said his heroes have always been cowboys but the cowboys don't want jail time and you cannot blame them. Lesson here is if someone comes to your door for your belongings, you had better be armed with more than a salad fork. Just sayin'.
